Tracing Neville family

Here's a challenge!  I have managed to trace my Grandad's family way back to 1806 but can't seem to get any further back.  Got as far as William Neville born 1806 in Eaton Bray and married Clara Cross at Bletchley 23.4.1828.  I'm trying to find his Father/Mother.  So I'm looking around late 1700's  Anyone have any idea's how to go further?

Hi Linda
The first sign of the Neville family in Eaton Bray that I can find is Richard born c1829 Bletchley who marries Ann Brinklow registered Leighton Buzzard June 1847.
Ann was born Eaton Bray c1829.
Richard seems to be the son of the William you mention who on Family Trees on Ancestry doesn't move from Bletchley.
Children of Richard and Ann from census are Eliza Ann,Frederick,Charles,John,William Cross,Betsey,Louisa,Harry/Henry and Edward.
Ann died in 1910 age 79 and Richard died in 1912 age 82. Tey are buried next to each other in Bower Lane Cemetery.
Richard was a tailor all of his life and it seems strange and sad that in the 1911 census a year before his death he was in the Workhouse at Leighton Buzzard.

Family Tree on Ancestry gives William 1806 Bletchley parents as Thomas Neville 1772-1837 Bletchley and Katherine Daniel 1771-1850 Bletchley.
Don't know if it is accurate but could be a starting point for you.

Looking for a bit of info myself on William Neville born c1896 Eaton Bray.
I am in the middle of a cricket history for EBCC who he played for in 1924. There is a photo of him on our history page.
He also served in the Machine Gun Corps during WW1.
Grandson of Richard and son of John who was also a Tailor.

Think this is Richards brother.
William Cross born Bletchley c1831 married Catherine Gurney born c 1828 Eaton Bray registered Leighton Buzzard June 1852.
Police Constable in Luton.

Many thanks.  My Grandad William did play cricket for EBCC and I still have his one of the cricket medals.  He was also a regular at The Five Bells and great friends with the Landlord "rhubarb" and the Pratts from the Rye. He was also a P.O.W. and was made to work in the salt mines in Germany. Also had tales of meeting the Queens Father at Sandingham while he was laying cables.  Said what a lovely man he was.

William Cross c1831.
Can't find him in the village at all but census has him 1861 Studham and 71,81,91 and 1901 Luton. Think he spent his life in the Police Force.
William 1806 had 2 more children, Eliza and Harriett but can't trace them after 1861 at the moment.

Thanks again.  I'm now starting on Thomas & Katherine born at Bletchley. I don't know how you do it.  I got  so confused that I started putting wrong dates against wrong people.  think I will have a break for 24 hours but admit I'm enjoying it.
