Watermill, 1900

1900 - This substantial watermill stood here for many years and was last used by Mr Bert Bunker. Burned to the ground when struck by lightning in 1923, it was sadly never rebuilt.

Thorne's flour sackThorne's Flour was sold in 7, 14 and 28 lb linen bags. The latter of these were washed out and used as pillow cases.

Two Counties Mill, viewed here across the orchard where Moor End Close is now built.

Two Counties Mill

The Mill used to stand on the boundary of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, hence the name. Built in 1917 on the site of a previous mill which had burned down.
