The Focus on Film SocietyCinema returns to Eaton Bray Village Hall on 13th September 2021 and will be showing films on the second Monday of each month for the new 2021-22 season.

The Focus On Films SocietyWe started our sixth year on Monday 12th September. We meet in Eaton Bray Hall on the second Monday of each month at 2.00 pm. We have nine films shown between September and May. Membership still costs only £32 payable in two instalments in September and January. Films are chosen by the members. After each film we serve tea and biscuits and there are slips to put in suggestions for future films.

Why not come along and see for yourself. A trial visit will only cost you £4 which is then deductable from your membership fee when you join. This season's films will include:

  • Made in Dagenham
  • Arsenic and Old Lace (1944 version)
  • Hachi: A Dog's Tale
  • The Full Monty
  • Roman Holiday
  • Nowhere Boy
  • The Duchess
  • The King's Speech
  • Billy Elliot

We currently have about 40 members but still have room for more.

This September we start our second season. During our first year we have grown to just over 50 members and the society is now on course for another successful year.

We meet on the second Monday of each month between September and May in Eaton Bray Village Hall at 2.00 pm when we show a film chosen by our members. This is followed by a nice cup of tea and biscuits and a chance to chat. Our films are projected onto a large 13ft by 9ft Screen and we have recently purchased some comfortable padded chairs.

Membership is £32 per year payable in two instalments in August and January. If you would like to sample a film, come along for the first time as a guest for £4.

The society is now in its second half of the year running from January to May.

Thanks to an anonymous donation we have been able to complete the purchase of all the equipment needed to show films in Eaton Bray Hall. The final items being an electrically operated roll up screen that is 13ft wide and 9ft tall and a superb digital projector.

The society meets at 2pm on the second Monday of each month between September and May.

Membership costs £16 per half season and guests are invited to see if they like the idea for £4 for one film.

We still have room for a few more new members so if you think you may be interested come along to our next film on 12th February. Or give our membership secretary Sue Gladin a call on 01525 220749.

  • Captain Corelli's Mandolin
  • A town Like Alice
  • Girl with a Pearl Earring
  • Dr Zhivago

Eaton Bray Cinema - Future Dates

Following on from the previous screenings, including this month's "Love Actually", the Eaton Bray Cinema will be continuing over the coming months with various films from recent years showing in Eaton Bray Village Hall.

Eaton Bray's Own Cinema

The next film to be screened in the Village Hall is "Love Actually" - tomorrow (Monday 14th 2005) at 2.00pm. Admission is £3.50.

Cinema in Eaton Bray!

Our local District Councils are sponsoring a scheme to bring films to rural communities, and Eaton Bray Hall Trustees have joined it. The first film, "Cold Mountain", will be shown at 2pm on Monday, 10th October (2005) in the Village Hall.

Tickets at £3.50 are available from Mary French, or from the Hall between 2.00 and 3.00pm on Mondays 26 September and 3 October. Refreshments after the film.
