Parliamentary Constituency: South West Bedfordshire

Andrew Selous won for the Conservative Party.

Turnout: 65%

 

Ward: Eaton Bray

Ken James won for the Conservative Party with 1,225 votes.

Ruth Archer (Independent) came in second with 943 votes.

Isaac Chikwakwanyi Sibiya (Labour Party) came in third with 242 votes.

Turnout: 72%

 

Parish Council: Eaton Bray

The seats were uncontested, and so the following were duly elected Parish Councillors for Eaton Bray:

Joan Conner, Mike Simkins, Phil Spicer, Mark Tomkins, Lorna Tribbick, Glenn Wigley, Richard Windmill

 

Police & Crime Commissioners Referendum

Voters were asked: Do you want the Beds PCC to increase the amount it charges by 15.8%?

The results were:
Yes: 42,682
No: 91,716

Turnout: 65.76%

Election of Parish Councillors for

EATON BRAY

  1. An Election is to be held of Nine Parish Councillors for Eaton Bray.
  2. Forms of nomination for the Parish Election may be obtained from Clerk to Parish Council or Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ from the Acting Returning Officer who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
  3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4 pm on Thursday, 9th April 2015.
  4. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 7th May 2015.
  5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ by 5 pm on Tuesday, 21st April 2015.
  6. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ by 5 pm on Tuesday, 28th April 2015.
  7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that physical incapacity occurred after 5pm on Tuesday, 28th April 2015, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ by 5 pm on Thursday, 7th May 2015.

Eastern Electoral Region

 

Notice is given that an election is to be held in the Eastern Electoral Region for seven members of the European Parliament.  If the election is contested the poll will be held on 22 May 2014 between 7am and 10pm.

 

Standing for election

 

Nomination papers may be obtained from the address below or from www.chelmsford.gov.uk/euroelections. Delivery of all nomination papers and consents to nomination must be made in person to the address below and by the date shown.

The deposit for each registered political party or individual candidate (£5,000) may be paid by cash or bankers draft (banks operating in the UK or Gibraltar only), by electronic payment into my account or by debit or credit card.

New Parish Councillor Declared

Lorna TribbickCongratulations to Lorna Tribbick who was elected as Parish Councillor for Eaton Bray Parish Council on Thursday 4th April.

Voter turnout was just under 20%, but the result was clear with 270 votes for Lorna Tribbick and 132 votes for Teresa Stack-Murray.

New Police and Crime Commisioner Named

Bedfordshire PoliceOn Thursday the 15 November the people of Bedfordshire elected Olly Martins as their Police and Crime Commissioner.

Following the election result Chief Constable Alfred Hitchcock said "I am pleased to welcome Olly Martins as the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire. I look forward to building a successful partnership with the Commissioner to fight crime and protect the public".

The Crime Commissioner will take the oath on Monday (19 November) and will formally take office on Thursday (22 November).
