Summary of Minutes - Monday 2nd November 2009

Vacancy For Parish Councillor

There is a vacancy for a Parish Councillor on Eaton Bray Parish Council. If you are interested in joining the council please contact the Parish Clerk.

Mobile Skate Park

This has now been installed and being used. The Parish Council wish to thank the police for all their hard work in getting this organised.

Skate & Ride Area

The Parish Council are pleased to announce that the Skate & Ride area is nearing completion. However, due to the nature of the materials used, will not be in full use till mid November 2009.

School Lane Recreation Ground

Due to previous covenants placed on School Lane Recreation Ground ending, the Parish Council is now looking into the possibility of registering the land as a Village Green.

Leasing Of Land

The Parish Council reviewed the feedback from residents affected by the proposed leasing of land off School Lane Recreation Ground. The Parish Council agreed that as the majority of residents were not in favour of this land being leased, they would not be proceeding any further with the application at this time and for the land to remain as it is.

St Mary’s Church – Flower Beds

A design has now been agreed for the new church flower beds, with the help of school children from Eaton Bray Lower School.

River Ouzel

Due to low rain fall in recent months, concerns had been raised with the water flow of the River Ouzel. An inspection of the area was carried out which showed that although there is Yellow Flag Iris growth in the water, there is still a clear area for water to flow and heavy rain fall during the winter months will flatten this growth and give a clear flow.

Letter Of Thanks To The Parish Council

The Parish Council received a letter of thanks signed by many of the youngsters who were involved in the skate & ride. They wished to thank everyone who gave up so much of their time, supported the project and for making the skate & ride possible, not only for them, but for the youth of the parish. An area where they and other youngsters can go and enjoy themselves, in a purpose built, safe environment, away from the busy roads.
